Invalid pointer bug on prompted scan attempt

After updating to latest definitions, when I tried to do a quick scan from
the page notifying that a san had not been done in past 3 days, I got a
pop-up window with:
"Windows Defender encountered an error: 0x80004003. Invalid pointer."
This is with:
Windows Defender Version: 1.1.1051.0
Engine Version: 1.1.1372.0
Signature Version: 1.14.1410.10
However, if I go to the Scan page and just click to start a quick scan, it
works.

(The same error occured with signature version 1.14.1408.8 after I
uninstalled Windows Defender and downloaded an installed again.

I have same problem. Same version.

I clicked the "check for updates" button, and it says I have latest.

What now?

Please follow Tom Emmelots original advice to Murray Eisenberg--go to the
download center and download the newer code. This update will eventually be
offered automatically, but it is not yet being offered that way.
