Pointer error

Whenever i try to run a scan with windows defender and click on the "start
scan" button, i get an error message saying:

Windows Defender encountered an error: 0x80004003. Invalid pointer.

Im only using the stock windows mouse pointers so i dont understand whats
causing this.

This is a bug. It is known to Microsoft, but not fixed in code distributed
thus far. The workaround is to do the scan via the menu choices, rather
than using the button.
