Installation Error

Hey,
Everytime I try to install a software or even unzip a file I get the following error : "An I/O error occurred while installing a file. This is normally caused by bad installation media or corrupt installation file."
I have these problem usually when I try to install games like Call of Duty, which is the one that Im currently trying to install but I cant.
Thanks

Hi Cleve,

Let's try some basic troubleshooting. If the problem still persists
please post back and we'll try some more steps. Good luck! :)

1. Run a virus scan at: http://housecall.antivirus.com Afterwards
Download & Run Spybot from: http://security.kolla.de to find any
Trojans, Adware, or Spyware which could clog up your system.

3. Click My Computer / Rightclick the Drive & Choose Properties
/ Run the "Disk Cleanup..." / Next Click the "Tools" Tab and run
the "Error-Checking" and "Defragmentation" utilities.

4. Test another CD player on your system. Perhaps yours
needs to be cleaned or serviced.

Hi Cleve,

Try copying the CD to your hard drive and install the
game from there. I still suspect the CD or CD drive.
