I'm packing it up and sending it back

Win95 is what made the internet the success it is today.

LOL! It also made it possible for computer bots, viruses, spyware, adware
and malware. Not only that, it created a huge business for repair techs.
What it *didn't* do was provide a safe Internet unless, of course, you're
using Linux.

Really? I thought Knode was a KDE app. So ypu're either dumb as ****
and installed KDE on top of Ubuntu or installed Kubuntu which isn't the
same thing - Loonix Zealots being pedantic and all that.

Shows how clueless you are. =)

You can use KDE apps with Ubuntu (Gnome).
You can use Gnome apps with Kubuntu (KDE).

It doesn't matter! I know, I know, it's a strange concept and if it was
Windows that would be impossible. So it might be a little difficult for you
to imagine. I understand.

Bottom line: Doesn't matter if he has Ubuntu or Kubuntu installed.

Hardly any Wifi support
No vendor 3d drivers

No 3D Drivers?? Odd then how my 7800 GT works perfectly with my 3D Desktop
and my 3D Applications...
No multimedia codecs.

Really?? Then explain to me why I am at this very moment watching a DVD and
was watching a DivX video last night?
Excellent community support though.

Very excellent.

No vendor provided 3d drivers have been supplied in Ubuntu as it would
taint the "free software" mantra.
Where is the WMA support? Where is the Realplayer support? Where is the
Quicktime support? Why do I have to install an illegal library to watch
a CSS encoded commercial DVD?

Linux isn't safe. You should take a look around the SecurityFocus
website. As a virus writer what would you rather do, write a virus
which attacks the most popular desktop OS on the planet or attack an
extremely minority OS?

ROFL...you're about to get asswhipped.
You can use KDE apps with Ubuntu (Gnome).

...after installing all basic KDE (around 500MB as I recall) which
bloats the OS thus making it as bad as your despised Windows for bloat.
You can use Gnome apps with Kubuntu (KDE).

...after installing the Gnome libraries which bloats the OS thus making
it as bad as your despised Windows for bloat.

So in order to use Knode on Ubuntu, you'd have to install 500MB of
other shite.

Because you installed the vendor supplied drivers. Windows Vista comes
with the vendor supplied drivers.

I NOTED THAT YOU DIDN'T ARGUE ABOUT WIFI.
Really?? Then explain to me why I am at this very moment watching a DVD and

Because you downloaded and installed them. BTWE, libdvdcss is illegal
to use.

A lot of people play games on the PC.

PC games are a dying breed. Now MS and the boys want you to buy a console.
50 Tetris clones isn't
sufficient.

See above.
Because your Ubuntu updater tells you to.

Well, I have had no problems with the Ubuntu updater. Oops. I am on my third
version. Oops again.

Not illegal where I live, chum. If you live in the DRM riddled USA, yes,
you're SOL unless you want to break the law.

Being as wintards like you leave your computers open for harvesting, Windows
is much more of an attrative target than a system that can't be
compromised.

Ghandi was told that salt had to be taxed!

Loath as I am to wade in here. What the hell!

If I listened to that God of Piracy. Steve Ballsmer? who keeps popping
up in all the oddest places to spout in no uncertain terms that Linux is
in breach of a number of unspecified Microsoft software patents. I
would have shredded all documents and drives that made any reference to
Linux. I do however note that while the guys from Redmond are happy to
role out the scare stuff. They are remarkably reticent about exactly
what it is they are really accusing the Linux people of. This from a
company that would appear to retain as many litigators as software
developers. This little black duck it tired of software patent Steve.

Here is an almost original idea. Microsoft! There is this really good
unix clone O/S around. It has kernel level protection, semi transparent
windows, user level security and a host of tightly integrated
applications out of the box, including a web browser with tabs. It does
however have lousy driver support, a somewhat disaffected user base
(users are confused about which distribution they should install) and is
rough around the edges and periodically refused to work. It is ripe for
a takeover and a cleanup. With only a little work it could be turned
into a real money spinner.

The only trouble is guys. You already released it. Perhaps instead of
banging the legal drum and trying to scare people into using your
products you could go back to doing what brought you the masses in the
first place. Release best of breed applications and operating systems
without the chest beating and the lawyers.

The music industry is in decline. The record companies blame piracy and
make getting and using music as difficult as possible. Yet their sales
continue to decline. The poor retards over at ARIA have not worked out
that the main reason no one buys their product is that people have other
things other things they want to do with their entertainment dollar.

Microsoft need to take note of the decline of the Music industry. Head
in the sand approaches like that of the music industry are popping out
all over at Redmond. Don't blame the pirates. Look at yourself! Copy
protection is laughable. Treat all of your customers as if they are
thieves, and they soon will be. People do not respond well to impromptu
strip searches. When there is a crack out there for vista people are
going to use it. Just as soon as it is easier to apply the crack than
it is to step through your activation hoops.

The first part was. This wasn't:

"Obviously we know which category you fall in."

Now, the license I would support would be a short course on computers as a
part of the purchase and, upon graduation, you get a license to "drive"
your computer. This license would be good for any and all future computers
with refresher courses when a new OS comes out. Alas, this would mean that
the vendors and software writers cared about their paying customers.

You could suggest it it Ford and GM. Get real. I hate the lady that
can't grasp that the DVD is not a cup holder as much as anyone. But
until we see refresher driving tests for new model cars, you are dreaming.
