ie cannot acces http sites

ie cannot access any http sites only secure sites (https).
already done everything, reset ie to all defaults. only
thing not done is reinstall coz cant download or install
coz ie installer cannot access files from page. pleas
help!! dont wana reinstall windows xp.

Mike,

I am also having the same problems as Jon. I have tried
your suggestion and I still can get to most http:// sites.
The two I can think of right now are
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/disneydollarless and
http://disneyecho.emuck.com

Can you or someone else help me.

Xavier,
You may need to clear your TIF as you may have a corrupt file there.

Close all instances of OE and IE
Control Panel | Internet Options | General tab
Click the "Delete Files" button, when prompted place a check in:
"Delete all offline content", click OK
Click the "Clear History" button, click OK.
Click the Settings button, adjust the TIF size to 50 mb, click OK
