I think it's an improvement. . .

S

Semolina Pilchard

I didn't actually think about you or anybody else in this thread when I
wrote that among many other examples, I was thinking about usenet and
life in general.

But I realized soon after posting it that you or somebody else could
feel targeted by that example.

Well, that is just another example of the need for checking messages even
more carefully and removing things which could provoke a response I did
not intend.

Unfortunately there is always a limit on the time and effort one can put
into a discussion, and today I prioritized a much more important
discussion in another newsgroup, about the history of religion, and how
to put an end to that history.

4000 years ago God divided the world into heaven and hell, or heaven and
hell, if you like. God created a dualistic world made up of
determination and conviction, secrets and misunderstandings, taboos,
gender roles and a lot of intensive love and violence.

Now I am undoing that and I am welding the world back together again, so
we can all be more easy-going, simple and natural.

Well, it is a complicated story.. But it is the reason why I didn't use
enough time to clean up that message, sorry. ;-)

I quite understand, Roger. If it's between arguing about "acquire"
with ole Sem Pilchard and putting God's works to rights, don't let me
get in your way. I do hope you're successful and that God appreciates
the work you're putting in.

I managed to square the circle this afternoon myself but I ran out of
time on transmutation of base metals into gold. Still, it's only
twenty past seven and my wife doesn't insist on me washing the dishes
before eight, so I might get it done before then.

done but ATN I'm having trouble uploading the changes.
PS. Still suggest you move it up (or down) :)

Your wish has been granted. :)

The Google box is bigger than the links - I couldn't find an arrangement
that looked good with it at the top. . . so I threw it out. . . and
used advanced search *links* for both searches.

I haven't gotten to Maria's link button for "enter" yet - but I did make
the "enter" text smaller.

I liked the search box on the page better.
Besides, sending a new visitor to Google's Advanced search page makes it
less 'user friendly', IMO.

I dunno. . . I *hope* newbies will "Enter" the site and IMO moving
the searches up to a corner makes them less noticeable.

You and Bjorn have expressed your preferences (tie vote). ;)

Feedback from others please. Which layout do you prefer?

TIA

I liked the box too, and also agree with Ben it is more user friendly
than just a link. Just did not like where you placed both acf link an
PL search first. My suggesting is place the Google box where you had
it, leave the acf search link where it is (could also add it
(duplicate it) below - under the ACF heading in the ACF section - if
you don't mind, making sure nobody miss it :) Let me know when you
want to switch to a different topic, don't want you to suffer a
burnout over this

I would like to wrap this up for now - other things need attention - and
revisit it later as needed.

The index is a site map - IMO off-site search links would be confusing.

I'll add the Google search box where I had it before - leave both search
links where they are - they're mainly for the "power users".

I think we have a plan. Is everybody happy?

I'm so happy, I'm crying. ;)
