J

On other newsgroups I see people post hardware configuration listings
like the one below. How is this done? I can't find a place in the
device manager to create such a listing.

[the following is an example I copied from a post. it is not mine.
i'm asking how to create a list like this]

Hi Jim,

Start/run msinfo32

Or, access system information under start/all programs/accessories/system
tools.

Then expand the branches to reach the category you want. Click in the left
pane, then click edit/select all/edit/copy. Open a post, click in the
message text area and hit ctrl+v to paste the contents.

Thanks for your reply, but that doesn't list the same information as
in my illustration. The example I gave in my OP was for USB -- here's
an example of the same area using your method:

Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0068&SUBSYS_0C111043&REV_A4\3&13C0B0C5&0&12
Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller

Try typing "belarc" into your browser and download the free version. It will
tell you everything that is in your computer.

I use it also. It's about the best I've seen. Easy to use and read.

I've used Aida32 also. It's a personal preference only.
