DOS Error message

Please if anyone can help me, I have tried to fix this problem on my own by
searching google, but nothing has helped yet..About a week ago, I have been
getting this error message when I try to start some of my programs.
16-bit MS-DOS Subsystem
path to the program that you are trying to start or install
C:\Windows\System32\Autoexec.nt The system file is not suitable for running
MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the
application.
I do not know what has caused this or how to repair it. Thank you in advance
for any help that you might be able to give. Here is some info about my

cannot find this file: Right-click the %SYSTEMROOT%\System32 folder, and
then click Paste
