usb2 hardware but no usb2 function

I have read everything I can find on the knowledge base, as well as on the
Via website. I have an AMD based machine with a VIA chipset kt600-8237. I
have successfully installed the Via Enhanced Host Controller driver. On the
Device Manager I discern the following:

Driver USB 2.0 Root Hub 5.1.2600.0
Sub Drivers usbhub.sys 5.1.2600.2180

Driver USB Root Hub 5.1.2600.2180
Sub Drivers usbd.sys 5.1.2600.0
Sub Drivers usbhub.sys 5.1.2600.2180
Sub Drivers vulfntr.sys 2.52

Driver Via USB Enhanced Host Controller 5.1.2600.1106
Sub Drivers usbehci.sys 5.1.2600.2180
Sub Drivers usbhub.sys 5.1.2600.2180
Sub Drivers usbport.sys 5.1.2600.2180
Sub Drivers hccoin.dll 5.1.2600.2180
Sub Drivers usbui.dll 5.1.2600.2180

Driver Via Rev 5 or later USB Universal Host Controller 5.1.2600.2180
Sub Drivers usbhub.sys 5.1.2600.2180
Sub Drivers usbport.sys 5.1.2600.2180
Sub Drivers usbuhci.sys 5.1.2600.2180
Sub Drivers usbui.dll 5.1.2600.2180

I am suspicious of the usbd.sys driver - being an older version. Further,
the USB 2.0 Root Hub is listed as NEC. I realize that this was the original
USB 2.0 driver, but this does not seem right. Online update of these drivers
does not work. The usb does work in 1.1 mode, but not usb 2.0 mode.
Suggestions?

If you have read "everything"
and installed the recommended
drivers, then there isn't much
left for anyone to provide to
you by way of assistance.

1st cent = some bios/cmos has an enabled
setting for usb's

2nd cent = maybe using a tool to check
and or test the connections:

you might run msinfo32 and look for
conflicts or
try a benchmarking tool
like pcwizard....

Thanks for the tips. The bios/cmos setting have been set for usb2 all along.
I used msinfo (for the first time) and found no conflicts. I also
downloaded PCwizard and used it to look for problems. Alas - none found.
But thanks anyway.
