Bypass "Do you want to open or save this file?" for ASPX/TIF files

Hi,

I have a number of users who regularly access TIF and PDF files from a
server on our local network using IE 6 on Win XP SP2. They use a link to an
aspx file which then opens the file that is stored on another server within
the local network. Both servers are running Windows Server 2003.

When they click the link to the TIF file they are always shown a prompt
asking them "Do you want to open or save this file?" with option to 'Open' or
'Save' the file. However opening PDF's does not present this dialog box and
just opens the file in Acrobat. How can I stop this dialog from appearing so
that they just immediately open the TIF files in MS Office Document Imaging
without being nagged about it?

I've tried the following so far on a client computer:

Used Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > File Types > Chosen TIF >
Advanced and then unticked the 'confirm open after download' tickbox.
(Actually the Advanced button was unavailable when MS Office Document
Imaging is the associated application for this file type, it just had a
'Restore' button instead which just reverted it to using the Windows Picture
and Fax Viewer).

Confirmed that the "Include all network paths (UNCs)" setting was checked in
Internet Options > Security > Local Intranet > Sites.

Added both servers into the trusted zone.

Created a "SEE_MASK_NOZONECHECKS" environment variable and set it to 1.

But I still get asked everytime whether I want to open or save the TIF files.

This problem doesn't occur if I click a link to the TIF files directly
without using the ASPX link.

I'd appreciate any help or advice that can be offered.

Thanks,
Rob.
