IE Won't Open .tif Files

I have an XP Pro client that when they use IE7 and try and hit a link to a
..tif file... instead of opening the file in the Windows Picture and Fax
Viewer it just does nothing and the link in the address bar is the full http
to the .tif. I have checked and reset the .tif extension in the File
Options/File Types. I even tried changin it to some other viewer like
Paintbrush but no go. The IE will successfully open a .pdf from an html
link. I'm stumped on this one.

Thanks!

It could be a coding issue with the web site. You can try to install the
Add-on of TIFF viewer on the following page and restart IE and see whether
that will fix it for you.
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/ietips.htm

On the following web site, steps of Internet Explorer to open a TIF file has
been mentioned. You can see the properties that matters for Internet
Explorer and some of the registry keys you can check.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms775148(VS.85).aspx

Did you try other web site with .TIF files or download that file and open
it?

Thanks for the help. I followed the 2nd link about the registry and found
something other than the default for the .tif images. I don't know what it
was but I just restored to the default and all is good. This affected ALL
..tif images so I know it was not a particualar website
