Application Fails to Open Because Another Application is modifying WIN32 version Functions.

I am unable to operate Norton WinDoctor. When I try to open the application,
I receive the following error message:

"Norton WinDoctor is unable to correctly identify the version of this
operating system due to another application hooking and modifying the WIN32
version functions. Norton WinDoctor will now terminate."

Any clue how I can identify the interfering application and remedy the
situation?

I am running:
Windows XP Home Edition, 5.1.2600 SP1
Norton System Works 2002.05 which includes Norton Utilities v. 6.03.36

Ahhh!! Sweet Reason. I shu'da thought of that, But I loathe them.

Anyway , I took your suggestion and found a solution via their automated
help tool. A freak compatibility problem solved by tweaking the setting on
the Compatibality Tab on the Properties Window for several files.

Many thanks Carey.
