Does anyone know if this is what I should do with Outlook 2003? I am
having
the same problem and have basically isolated it to a problem with Vista,
but
I am not using the Live Mail feature. Please help!

Gary, I have went thru this entire message link and read every message
paying particular attention to yours. I have tried every fix you have
suggested but I am still stuck with a message in the Windows Mail inbox that
has the following text " Message could not be displayed
Windows Mail encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this
message. "

No matter what I do I can not delete it, forward it, manually move it to
another folder or anything. If I try I get the following message "An unknown
error has occurred".

I am running an 160 gb harddrive that is about 1/4 full, the slave is 160gb
and is and 1/3 full and I have an external drive that is 500 gb that is
basically empty. My processor is a 64 bit AMD, I have 2mb of ram, and the
processor speed is 2.4 ghz. There are no issues running Vista Ultimate on my
computer. I don't believe this is a vista problem but rather sometype of
glitch. However I just cannot remove it. I have tried to import the same
"inbox" file that is stored and delete it then but the same thing happens.
It is a nuisance more than anything as I can't seem to find away of getting
rid of this one message. Any other suggestions beyond what you have posted
in blue?

The only thing that is going to remove that message is a complete wipeout of
the message store and then you will have to set everything up again and also
import all your messages. Its hardly worth it for a single undeletable
message.

clear outbox. Cheers mate.

I had similar problem - could not get emails out of "outbox". I put all
outgoing emails in drafts folder, then opened one "draft" at a time and
clicked send on each one individually. This worked and all emails were then
sent, one at a time.

Steve, after no sleep and trying everything I could, I stumbled upon your
message and it cleared the offending item from my outbox and I can send mail
again. You are a genius. I tried the download from Microsoft and that didn't
work, so thank goodness for people like you who can cut to the chase and
really help !

Many thanks

This fix usually works for such problems. Download and install it with
Windows Mail not running.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other folders. If you don't know whether to use the 32-bit version or
the 64-bit version, try the 32-bit version first. Certain common
antivirus programs, such as most of those from Norton or McAfee,
or a recent one from Trend, tend to cause such problems, although
seldom immediately, so if you have such a program, remember
where to find the fix - you are likely to need it again.

Download and install this fix, with Windows Mail not running:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in the Outbox, it also helps in
other folders. If you don't know whether to use the 32-bit version
or the 64-bit version, try the 32-bit version first. Certain common
antivirus programs, such as most of those from Norton or McAfee,
tend to cause such problems, although seldom immediately, so if
you have such a program, remember where to find the fix - you are
likely to need it again. A recent antivirus program from Trend also
causes assorted problems in Windows Mail. After applying the fix,
some of what is in your Outbox should send and you should be able
to delete the rest.

My Windows mail has stopped working. All my account information disappeared
and when I try to re-enter it I get the message "An error occurred while
reading the new account information. No changes have been made. I have tried
multiple times with the same result. I hope you can help. Thanks.
