Can you delete the oldest message in the Outbox? If not, download and
install this fix with Windows Mail not running:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other folders. If you don't know whether to use the 32-bit version or
the 64-bit version, try the 32-bit version first. Certain common
antivirus programs, such as most of those from Norton or McAfee,
or a recent one from Trend, tend to cause such problems, although
seldom immediately, so if you have such a program, remember where
to find the fix - you are likely to need it again.

Messages may be stuck in the Outbox when you use Windows Mail on a computer
that is running Windows Vista
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941090
It also works on other folders.

Robert -- I downloaded the 32-bit version and it did fix the problem. Thank
you very much for your help!

Hi Frank,

I downloaded the 32 version and it did fix the problem. Thank you very much
for your help!

Hi Frank.... Can you tell me if this same download corrects messages which
are stuck in my in-box which say "Message cannot be displayed an unkown error
has occurred." I have approximately 3-4 emails that are stuck in my inbox
displaying this same error. I have "flagged" them and then I filter by "hide
flagged messages"...this error seems to have occurred twice this week, so I
was just wondering if this same download you mentioned for phyllis would work
for my problem. I recall reading about this a year ago and at that time
there was not "fix"...

Your posts always seem so helpful so I figured I'd ask you... Thank you for
your time and consideration.... Regards, Candice

Yes. As Frank says below, "It also works on other folders."
Microsoft's description of their fix is misleading in that it implies
that it works only on the Outbox folder.

ah!! Disregard my previous post to you as you have answered my question
here! You're really, really good! :)

How do I know if I should use the 64 or 32-bit download... ? Sorry, I am a
dig-bat when it comes to this stuff!

If you don't know which version to use, the 32-bit version is more likely to
be
the one you need. If it refuses to install, try the 64-bit version also.
Either
one will just refuse to install if it's not the one your version of Vista
needs.
