8500DV and Roxio Easy Creator 6

I have a 8500DV card in a 2.4Ghz P4 with 1 Gig of ram.

When inputting to the card from an analog VHS tape using the ATI inputs it
records video and sound well but I can achieve better video from Roxio's
capture program. The problem is, Roxio's EZ creator 6 doesn't reproduce
sound on playback, no matter how I adjust the input signals or connections.

Anyone know what gives???

Usually you need to open your soundcard mixer and set the recording slider
to use the line input
