Zip 100 and XP Home?

I'm trying to install a parallel Zip 100 drive on XP Home on a
Compaq Presario 5000. I installed the drivers DLed from the
Iomega site and the additional XP driver.

XP hardware wizard doesn't see the Zip. The driver install says
to reboot but then never returns afterwards. I tried installing
drivers twice. The printer plugged into the ZIP parallel pass-
through (LJ3) doesn't work.

Anyone got this to work on their system?

TIA

In your BIOS setup, set parallel port ot EPP ( or bidirectional).

Be aware that XP simply has crappy driver for the parallel port. You might
try a USB to prallel adapter - I know this makes a huge difference in a
printer directly connected to XP box.

Don't know how the LJ III will work with XP directly, mine is attached to an
old Win95 box on my network.

Can't help you with your problem, but The Zip 100 I purchased when on
Windows 98 works fine on XP Home. I downloaded some files from
Iomega's site, but it's been so long ago that I don't know what they
were.
