How To Turn Off Write Caching For ZIP SCSI Drive Under Windows XP?

I have an Iomega ZIP 100 SCSI drive connected to an internal Adaptec
SCSI card using Windows XP Professional with Administrative Rights.
The ZIP Drive works OK but it takes a long pregnant pause before I can
eject the ZIP disk after writing to it. It's very very annoying.
According to Device Manager - Disk Drives - Iomega ZIP 100 SCSI -
Policies, write caching is enabled but I want to change it to
"Optimized for Quick Removal" (write caching off) but I can't because
both entry's are grayed out! Is there anyway to turn off write
caching for this drive by some other means or is there someway to open
up the grayed out options? Note, the same options are grayed out for
the hard drive Policies too. Also the latest IomegaWare doesn't have
any options regarding the write caching setting.

Have you checked your BIOS options for SCSI drives? Are they configured
right?

What about flushing the write cache? Using
Sysinternals SYNC you can do it by single
click.
