your downloads freezing

I have a 56K dial up and I could not download any files without a freeze up
every few minutes. Tonight I downloaded Sygate Personal Firewall which was a
chore, and install it . I then turned off the Win Firewall . I then
proceeded to download a 5 MB file and went without a freeze up, so it had to
be the Win Firewall. I hope helps some else out .
