Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of

My mail at Yahoo is not a free account
It does have web access that works
I pay for yahoo and I do have POP access IF Windows Mail worked right.
Outlook used to work fine but I do not curently have it installed

Yes, your settings are correct.
You are the sixth person reporting this problem here today.
There is something strange going on with the Yahoo/AT&T mail servers.
Which antivirus are you running?

I am running Live One Care.
I have allready tryed turning off the antivirus and fire wall but that didnt
help.
Just a note...I have ATT DSL and an ATT Yahoo acount, Not a free Yahoo
acount so I do get POP access.

Hi,

I've 3 free yahoo accounts that I access since 2 years ago throught Windows
Mail Vista. Since yesterday it's unavailable to access them via Windows Vista:
"Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'test', Account: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', Server:
'smtp.att.yahoo.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 465, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error

I look forward for possibles solutions you'll find. Thanks

My friend, we have exactly the same issue. My problem is titled, "Can receive
but not send Windows Mail". In my case Windows Live OneCare is the problem.
However, just turning all the security features off didn't help, but once I
uninstalled it everything went back to normal. Unfortunately, I haven't
solved the OneCare problem yet so I tell you the resolution. Once I find one
I'll let you know.

Hope this helps.

That doesn't look like a free Yahoo account. It looks like the type
of email account you get via AT&T when you use them as your ISP.
AT&T and Yahoo are partners, so this is known as a partnered Yahoo
account.

Same question I asked below, which antivirus are you running?

I have OneCare and am told that that's my problem.
I haven't tried taking it out.
If I remove it I wont have virus protection.
I do have ATT DSL and that is how I get Yahoo mail.

BTW I am aceamw or Anthony depending how I post (web or Mail client)
