Yahoo! Anti-Spy versus Microsoft AntiSpyware

M

Michael Jones

I have just installed and run the beta software and at the
same time run the Yahoo! Anti-Spy.

Whilst the Microsoft version didnt find anything wrong the
Yahoo version found 4 tracking cookies. Not much I know,
but it is still something that I would want to know about
especially as a Network Administrator.

None of this is criticism as I like Microsoft products. I
just wanted to point out that the Microsoft beta (yes, I
realise it is still in beta) is not as thorough as the
free Yahoo! Anti-Spy.

If any one at Microsoft has any questions or wants a
screenshot of what I am talking about, please let me know.

Thanks,

Mike

That's too bad, but does not surprise me. They had to remove the ability to
detect and remove tracking cookies because when this software was under
Giant's name it detected them and constantly detected the passport cookie as
spyware.
