XpSP2 beat or the upcoming version doesnt seem to detect norton antivirus
installed as software in computer. Can any one assist me with an answer as to
how i can have sp2 detect that i have an antivirus software?

I have heard that you must have updated Norton prior to the
installation of sp2 or there are problems.

Does SP2 not detect NAV 2004.
Or is it that SP2 is unable to monitor the status?
SP2 will be unable to monitor the status until Symantec makes the
appropriate updates.
Some AV manufacturers seem to be waiting for the final release before
making the changes.

I have norton anti-virus and SP2 RC2 and don't seem to have any problems or
conflicts. What exactly are you expecting SP2 to do? }:~)

There were two articles about Microsoft's SP2 in this mornings
business section of my St. Pete times. Both articles were AP,
so this was not a local blurb.

Nobody can answer any of your questions regarding SP2 as it has not
yet been finalized or released. Maybe you'll have an answer in a few
weeks.

SP-2 went RTM this morning.

And? It hasn't been released to the public yet. RTM stuff sometimes
goes a few weeks before it ever gets out to the public, and often
times longer. I still stand by my original assessment: in a few
weeks we'll find out how well SP2 works with other software.

Probably much sooner!

Possibly as early as Monday for the public release but could be up to
the end of the month as you suggest.

But there are still many that have installed SP2.
Beta testers, MSDN subscribers as well as various partner programs
have access.
Many of these are already reporting on SP2.
