xp2 service pack doesn't show up...

in windows update. I had to reload everything on my comp. Win update did
have 11 security fixes which I installed.

The malicios software removal tool wouldn't install though. I had to do it
manually.

Any way I have 2 machines with xp. The one had 22 security fixes. After
loading them xpsp2 showed up and installed no problem.

But on this machine (Gateway 700s) I cannot get xpsp2 with windows update.
And I had it before I had to reload everything. I have automatic update
turned on.

I ran the oobe thingy and it said It was already activated. Do I need to
reactivate?

Somehow I think it's reading that I already have the xpsp2. But I do not
have the features of xpsp2.

Running windows update shows no updates available now.

Anyone have any help for me? I already ordered the cd, but that'll take a
while to get here.

btw i'm in the usa. It's not the spanish version-there was a spanish problem
similar in the knowledge base.

Ok, an update for you guys. I found xpsp2 on the internet.

Run the Hotfix first though, then run sp2. It loaded. So far it's working
ok.

I would still like to know what was preventing it from showing up in windows
update though.

Any comments or suggestions are welcome....
