xp2 problem

I received this message after installing sp2. "explorer.exe - entry point not
found - the procedure entry point SHCreateThreadRef could not be located in
the dynamic link library Shlwapi.dll." Found Article ID888162 on how to
repair this problem. Followed instructions. After removing KB834707 it then
states to remove xp2 installation from Add/Remove programs. When I try to do
this I receive the message "Access Denied." Does anyone know how I can
resolve this problem.

Dear Ron,
I have tried what you have suggested but it did not work. I still receive
the "access denied" so I still can't remove xp service pack 2. If you or
anyone has any other suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
