After installing the XP Service Pack 2 using Outlook Express 6 when I send
messages thru Outlook Express say to a Hotmail email address (and I tested it
also by sending myself an email, which I never receive) the other person does
not receive my message, the message is actually sent because it is no longer
in the Outbox. Now if I go to hotmail.com and send an email to someone or to
myself I receive it right away. Is there a fix for this? Please help.

Your outbox or sent items folder may be corrupt. Make sure both are empty
then shut down OE. Search for the files outbox.dbx and sent items.dbx.
Rename to outbox.old and sent items.old. Restart OE.

If you have more than one identity you will have more than one copy of each
and may have trouble working out which are the correct ones to rename. In
the affected identity go to tools, options, maintenance and use the 'store
folder' button. Write down exactly where it is and only rename the relevant
files in that folder.
