XP won't install on my HD

Hello everybody, I've been having this problem for a few weeks now and i
can't seem to find a cure for it.
On my pc that I use for "testing stuff" I had 1 HD with 2 partitions (c:
WinServer2k3 - d: XPPro) i uninstalled server2k3 I've installed Ubuntu Linux
in c:, but in the process i've messed something up, so I went ahead and re
partitioned and reformated de HD and I tried to install the same XPPro that I
had up and running and now it won't let me. It will boot from the XP cd, get
the "setup" screen, the system will start to load all the drivers, but before
it gets to the screen where it asks for the path and partitions, I get the
Blue screen with the "stop 0x0000007B" error. and Ive tried everything from
the MS Knowledge base, but nothing seems to work, I've scanned files for
viruses, boot records, MBR, flashed bios/cmos, tried different HD's and
nothing seems to work. The strangest thing is that that cd works out
perfectly on my laptop, and that I have no problems trying to install Linux
on that or any HD that I connect to my pc. This is driving me crazy! So if
anyone can help, I'll be more than thankful. If you need more details, I'll
give you whatever you need, just ask! Again, Thanks!

Yes, everything...
Each partition was 20 gb, and after I've deleted them, I ended up with the
whole 40 gb.
I swept the HD clean and it still would not work, then I tried having 2 20
gb partitions so I could install XP on the c drive and leave D for linux, but
neither one worked.
Hope that helps!
Thanks.

Are you running SATA or RAID? If so, you may need to install the driver for
your controller during setup...(Press F6 prompt).

Caviar 80 gb 7k rpm.

Jast ask!
Thanks!
