XP windows installer & Quicken 2004 cannot see CD during installtion

Every time I try to install quicken by any of the methods they recommend,
each try terminated with "could not find file or specified path or disk"
even though the setup was started from that disk. Have replaced installer
files, updated to SP1, etc with no joy. Any ideas?

Can you install other programs? If yes, then the problem lies in Quicken
and you should contact their tech support.

Below are a couple of messages regarding installing
quicken 2004. I've had the same problem. quicken is
trying to help but can't figure it out. we've spent two
hours on the phone and they now have some techie genius
working on it supposedly.

Have you by chance been informed of a fix from
intuit/quicken or anyone on the message board?
