I installed XP home w/sp2 over win98 and converted files to ntfs. Everything
operated fine. I then installed a Bellsouth DSL modem. Fine. I then shut
computer down with XP. When I started computer again it went through BIOS
fine. It went to :Seeking boot sector from ide-0.

next line said:Use 'ctrl alt del' to restart.
Everything halts right there.

I downloaded the Fujitsu hard drive diagnostic program. The program
indicated the disk was ok.

I would appreciate any thoughts anyone may have.
Thanks

Where did you backup all data files to before you embarked on
the change of operating system?

When was the computer purchased? What make and model?

Hope this helps.
