XP will probably be your best bet if you're a heavy gamer. Although if
you're still playing older games you might want to consider a dual boot with
Win98 as there are some older titles will not run on XP at all.

I need a REALLY IMPORTANT ADVICE...

Im About to Buy a PC, now the most common WINDOWS is XP, that commes along
with the New Computers... BUT! my Dads PC used to have Win 98, I never had
any Issue when playing games with this Windows version... after he upgraded
the Win98 to XP there are SEVERAL GAMES dosnt work on it, Not only cause his
video card is not so Potent, but also cause that Windos give Errors, TO MAY,
and all that we can do is to REPORT THEM and spend all the time DOWNLOADING
Patches...

ANY ADVICE??? My xperiences with XP has not been so good, BUT is a really
Revolucionary Windows with nice views and stuff...

BUT MY PC WILL BE FOR GAMING MOSTLY...

I have had no trouble at all running any Win9x programs under Win2k,
even DOS programs I've tried work just fine.

I have had more than enough trouble running legacy applications in
general under XP. The so-called "compatibility" setting in XP don't seem
to make a bit of difference for some things either.

Of course, others' mileage may vary.

My recommendation is that if you don't need some specific
features/capabilities found only in XP then stick with Win2K.
