XP upgrade issues

I upgraded a computer from XP Home SP2 to XP Professional SP2. Everything
appeared to go smoothly, but now I canot activate Windows. When I try to do
so by going to Activate Windows under All Programs->Accessories>System
Tools->Activate Windows, the program, msoobe.exe, crashes. When I go to view
more info, it says the following:

The requested lookup key was not found in any active activation
context

It gives me the same message when I try to type in urls in Internet Explorer.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

You probably had IE7 on the machine before you upgraded, and the disk
would have put you back to IE6, although traces of IE7 remain. Boot
the machine to Safe Mode and uninstall IE7 via the following command
in your Run line:

%systemdrive%\Windows\IE7\spuninst\spuninst.exe

Reboot and you should be able to activate.
