XP Upgrade Issues

Just upgraded from 98SE to XP Home Edition and have run into major issues I
believe are mostly due to something in my Norton AV program. Here's what I
am unable to do since the upgrade:

Run the AV Program - after an extended amount of time I get an error message
that my AV subscription has expired (Was installed, activated and registered
in November 2004)

Open any Attachments in Outlook. Open any Word or EXCEL documents in My
Documents. (Office 2000 Standard)

Any ideas? I thought Windows XP was supposed to be better than 98SE - So
far it's been nothing but headaches for me.

Hi,

The issue is probably that your Norton software was active during the
upgrade. This isn't Windows fault.

1) Uninstall your Norton software, see where that gets you. You can always
reinstall it after resolving the issues.

2) Do a repair installation of your MSOffice product.

Note: Before removing the Norton software, make sure that the Windows
firewall is enabled.
