XP Upgrade Changed Fan Operation in Laptop

Ever since my upgrade to XP my fan in my Dell Inspirion
8000 laptop NEVER comes on. I know for sure it works
because I've done diagnostics and when I deleted XP it
once again worked. Is there a setting I can change to
make my fan come back on?

You need to re-install the DELL power saver software that was
originally on the machine. Go to the DELL web site for support and
downloads. You may be able to download a copy from there or you may
have the DELL software on a disk that came with the machine.
