XP updates

Every time that I check for available updates for XP
Professional, I am "told" that there is a critical update
KB 826939. However, when I check my update history, it
indicates that I have installed this many times. I'm
wondering if this is the cause of freeze ups that I get
almost every day, and sometimes more than one per day.
