I am currently running XP home and am attached to high
speed cable internet. XP from time to time lets me know
that I have updates to install, which I always do.

If I faithfully do this is there any reason I should have
to get updates by going to the microsoft site as various
emails suggest?

In particular I want to be sure that I am getting the
latest fixes that keep my systems secure.

Thanks,
Neil

Doing what you are doing should keep your system squeaky clean.... as long
as MS finds the hole before an evil doer.
