Hi,

Did anyone got this problem - dialup is not possible because system
stopped seeing the modem? I have internal USR Courier V.Everything. I guess
modem is OK because if I reboot into Windows 98, it can be initialized just
fine, and dialer starts dialing. XP can also work with modem, but only after
I go to modem properties through Control Panel, and do a diagnostics there.
Modem responds, and starts working as usual.

I think this problem occured after I updated the system with the most
recent updates. I already had SP1 installed, and then downloaded and
installed security updates from Microsoft site.

I wonder if this is a known bug. Any help is appreciated.

Hi Vitaly,

And if you uninstall the updates?

Updated the modem driver to an XP-compatible one yet?
