My friend's computer keeps looping back to the following messages upon
startup :
recent hardware or software changes may have caused Windows not to
start.
it is possiible there was a power outage or improper shutdown.
It then offers you the following startup choices:
safe mode
safe mode with networking
safe mode with command prompt
first known good configuration
start Windows normally
no matter which one you choose it goes back to the XP startup screen, then a
blue screen flashes for about 2 seconds and it starts the whole process
again. Is it possible the cmos battery could be causing this ?
