Hi everybody

Just wanted to know if someone else has had problems with SP2 and standby
mode. I've got a laptop : ACER Travelmate 6000 series (centrino 1.7, 512Mb,
82852 chipset).
The symptoms :

the display goes off
the dvd spins and does something
the pc does not go to sleep
sometimes (hours later) I find my pc with the dvd spinning at full speed !?

----

if I move the mouse :

the display immediately goes on, showing the logon screen.
I can logon normally but there is no sound anymore.

I simply removed SP2 -> Everything fine.

Any comments ?

Thanks

Matt

It's a long shot but worth the try. if you go into the Device Manager and
open to your 'Controllers', mine is IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers. Right-click
on your 'Primary' Controller > Properties > Driver > click update Driver.
Follow directions and then reboot. Good Luck.

Unfortunately I removed SP2 and does have the time to do that. But I'll try
one day... Maybe when Micro$oft will issue SP2 "final edition" because I
feel that we are not further than a Beta version... :-(

I`be been have the same issue since I installed SP2. By desktop will no
longer go into sleep mode by itself. I haven`t had time to look into it yet
but it seems to be an issue with SP2.

Check with the laptop maker for updated drivers for SP2. Laptops are
quite proprietary.

My Configuration: Acer Travelmate 6003LMI

Just (re)install the chipset drivers from intel.
Filename chipset.zip from the acer support site.
* Version: 5.1.1.1002
