XP SP2 and Search for Files

After installing XP SP2 Search for Files nad Folders no
longer works. Clicking Start>Search>For Files and Folders
opens a window. On the left side is a blue panel labeled
Search Companion with a dog sitting on the bottom. There
is no place to enter a file name, or anything else. None
of the pulldowns on the menu bar offer any assistance.
Uninstalling and reinstalling SP2 do not make any
difference. Reinstalling srchasst.inf does not difference.
Uninstalling SP2 returns to correct operation.

Ideas? Suggestions?

start, run

iexplore /rereg

(this command only works in SP2)

this re-registers DLL files for IE, some of which are used
for Search.

OR

Click Start, click Run type "regsvr32 jscript.dll"
(without the quotation marks),
and then press ENTER
Click Start, click Run type "regsvr32

Iexplore /rereg made no difference.

The regsrv32 commands resolved the problem. I didn't
check until after I ran them both, so I don't know which
one did it.

Thanks,

Bob
