Search companion doesn't work in Windows XP SP2

Hi,
Could someone help me out? The search companion in Win XP SP2 won't work
again. It shows only the dog and no search obtions or textboxes. I have tried
to reinstall the SRCHASST.INF file but it won't work--XP asked for the
Operating system CD which l inserted but the needed files were not found on
the SP2 CD(SP1 CD was rejected). Can anyone tell me exactly where on the SP2
CD to locate the needed files for the search companion ?

I also tried the patch provided by microsoft :-
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q319949; and windows
would just not allow me to install. It says that the version of the file l am
trying to install is older than the windows version am using. Its obvios this
file was created for XP SP1. Does Microsoft not have a patch for SP2?

Grateful for any help.

Borii,

When you're prompted for the updated system files, point to the following
location:

C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386

Also, type in Start, Run:

regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 %windir%\srchasst\srchui.dll

Hi, I have "Search" in my start menu but what is Search Companion?
I don't recall seeing it before. Where would I find it?
