Search Companion Problem.

I have seen a number of posts concerning this error. "A file that is
required to run Search Companion cannot be found. You may need to run setup."

None have solved the problem. All answers seem to surround SP1. I have
having this problem with service pack 2 applied on Windows XP Pro.

I have re-applied SP2 and also tried re-installing srchasst.inf , clear IE
cache and combination of the above.

Does anyone have some additional suggestions.

SSG:

Thank you for your help. Unless I am missing something this problem is much
deeper that what you refered to.

I have installed the srchasst.inf multiple times. I have renamed the
balloon.xsl and bar.xsl files and also reinstalled after renaming them. I
have deleted all temporarey internet files and via command prompt, searched
and insured there are no cached instances.

I can telnet to sa.windows.com on port 80 and varified via another machine
and IE that I get the same responce going to http://sa.windows.com (Under
Construction).

The hotfix download is for SP1 and I have SP2 so it will not install. I
have re-installed SP2 and insured that the files in the
c:\windows\srchasst\mui\0409 folder are updated.

Any additional suggestions

Any additional ideas
