Search Companion File Missing

Kat

Search Companion has worked for months and suddenly quit
working today. I get the error message that says "A file
that is required to run search companion cannot be found.
You may need to run setup." I found a Knowledge Base
article on this subject - KB319949, but it did not fix
the problem.

I tried all three of the resolution methods listed in the
KB article, and none of them worked. (Method 1:
Installed SP1a, which did not work, then Method 2: tried
to run the hotfix, but it would not run because it
requires no service packs, then Method 3: ran
Srchasst.inf Install.) None of these fixed my problem.
Need to be able to search for files... please help!

Thank you,
Kat

Try Kelly's link, below. Click on "S" and scroll down to...
"Error: "A file that is required to run Search Companion cannot be found.
