XP slowed down by SP2! in acer

HI ! I have installed SP2 on my computer... And I should say that the result
is a desaster! Everything is slow.... So I uninstalled the SP2, trusting that
the restore point the computer created would do it. But no!! My computer now
is like 100 per cent slower that it used to be (I have measured the time it
takes to start up: 5 minutes!!).
Any suggestion about how to solve this? Shoul I erase everything on my
computer and reinstall windows?
