xp setup disk lock up

i am trying to re-instll windows onto my machine as it
has LOTS of problems. when i boot from the xp disk it
gets to the setup page "enter to install/r fo repair/quit
F3" but the keyboard stops responding. i have tried
another keyboard but that does exactly the same. please
advise anybody?????

Usually when difficulties arise during installation of MS operating
systems like you describe, the problem is because of failing hardware.
Start by testing your RAM, and then your hard drive. I like Memtest86
for the RAM test, and your hard drive mftr. will have a free diagnostic
utility on its website.
