Please do not type in all caps. It is considered shouting and makes your
post hard to read. I Googled for "videocntrl.exe" and came up with
posts on various anti-spyware sites. I didn't get anything 100%
conclusive, but I would say you should do the following routine
cleaning:
Remove spyware with Spybot Search & Destroy from
www.safer-networking.org and Ad-aware from
www.lavasoftusa.com. Be sure
to update these programs before running them. These programs are free,
so run them both since they complement each other. It is best to run
antivirus and spyware removal tools in Safe Mode. You may also want to
run CWShredder and HijackThis from
http://aumha.org/freeware.htm.
Although CWShredder is no longer being updated, it will still clean
older variants of the CoolWebSearch malware. Please read the
instructions carefully.
Make sure you have a current antivirus (no earlier than 2003 version)
using updated definitions installed. Make sure you are either using the
XP firewall or have a third-party one installed.
After you are sure your computer is 100% virus and spyware-free, if you
are still having problems please repost.
