rpa999: Make sure your mouse is properly connected. If
you can get around the system using just the keyboard,
get into the control panel via ctrl-esc, select the
mouse, control-tab over to hardware and see if the device
is working properly. If not, remove the mouse, shut down,
restart without the mouse, shutdown, install the mouse
with the power off, and restart. You should get a "found
new hardware" message and you may get lucky as it re-
installs.

I lose my mouse when I install Service Pack 1 under
Windows XP Professional. After the update, the cursor
just sits in the middle of the screen and the mouse is
not functional. I have installed all other Windows
critical updates. Any ideas?
