There is a Service Pack 4 for Windows 2000. The latest Service Pack for
Windows XP is SP2. All that means is that the information applies to
both operating systems.

Repeating the sentence but making it clearer witrh quotation marks...

.... This release supports "Windows XP" __and__ "Windows 2000 with Service
Pack 4" ...

Two products.

"Windows XP" <- all versions and service pack releases of it, obviously.
"Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4" <- very specific that they only support
Windows 2000 machines that have SP4 (or later probably) installed.

If you have Windows 2000 (post in the appropriate newsgroups if you do) you
can get Service Pack 4 for it here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/servicepacks/sp4/default.mspx

Also go ahead and get the rollup:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/891861

And then visit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and scan for/install
further updates.
