XP says File and Settings file is not...

Prior to swapping motherboards I saved all my files and settings to the E
drive (2 harddrives; 1 partitioned as C and D and the other as E and F.
Formatted C and reinstalled XP. Now when I go to run the files and settings
transfer wizard and point it to the file location it says that it is not on a
removable drive or network drive and won't go further. I did notice that
windows changed the drive letters of my drives during the install so I
switched them back to the way I described above and the wizard didn't work so
then I switched it to how windows reconfigured it but it still won't work.
I'm going to run the windows update thing and maybe this is a fixed issue...
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

For anyone experiencing the same problem run the updates first. I was running
SP2 and once that was installed the transfer wizard worked.
But this again is another useless half-baked alternative. It should save all
your programs and it should certainly copy down the updates.
This is just another reason why M$ $ucks
