problem with files and settings transfer wizard

I am trying to transfer my settings from my old Windows XP Pro computer to
my new XP Pro computer. I was able to collect the settings data from the
old machine on a USB thumb drive; the file created was USMT2IMG.dat. I then
went to the new computer and ran the transfer wizard pointing to the USB
thumb drive. The transfer wizard then gave me an error message that it
can't find the settings on the thumb drive. The alert box message was
"Please insert disk 1". Then "The disk you inserted is not the correct
one". Anyone have any ideas as to what I should do? If I can't use the
transfer wizard, where is the location on my old computer that holds my
settings?

Files and Settings Transfer Wizard only works with: network connection,
direct cable connection, floppy disks, ZIP disks, CD's or some other kind of
DISK. USB thumb drive will not do it.
