XP Restore Console

When i try to run restore in xp it will not run. 1st it
tells me to restart, i do and it still won't run. when i
try to run it from the sys info tab it gives me this
message. An exception occured while trying to
run "C:\windows\system32
\shell32.dll,Control_RUNDLL "C:\windows\system32
\sysdm.cpl",System". Could someone please tell me how to
fix this problem?

hiya

i want to try and restore my computer so that every thing i have installed
and all my files go off it but i am not quite sure how can some one please
reply if you know how to do so
