XP Restarts after normal shutdown

My PC quite frequently restarts a minute or so after an
apparently normal shutdown. I have cleared
the "automatic restart" checkbox, yet it still restarts.
The knowledge base articles I've found don't seem to deal
with this occurrence. I've also looked at the system
performance logs and can't see anything that looks odd,
or that seems to co-incide with the occasions when it
restarts. No blue error screen messages appear, it just
starts up "normally".

Anyone have any suggestions ?

Control panel--- system---advanced, is restart on error on or off?

It is set to off - i.e. there is no tick in the "System
failure ... Automatically restart" checkbox in the
Startup & Recovery Settings window in the system section
of the control panel.

Did you get an answer for this. I have the same issue - smae settings - same problem.
