If i am using a wirless connection through a Linksys
wirless router, what do i need to reach a destination
PC? When i put in the IP address it dosent see the
destination PC. There isnt any domain at the destination
just a PC hooked up to a broadband router.

Thanks,
Frank

The remote router needs to have TCP Port 3389 forwarded to the private LAN IP of the desktop host
PC. Call using the public IP of the router.

Does this open up the destination PC to all sort of trouble from the 'net in
general? Does a Sygate Firewall protect against that?

Thanks.

I have seen no reports of problems only opening TCP Port 3389. If you do run Sygate you have the
same problem, ie. you need TCP Port 3389 open.

Nope, I would look at the Sygate users guide or search their support web pages.

I believe I've got it figured out... From my desktop (which will be the
remote) I can open my port 3389. (Since I'm sitting at the desktop, it's my
"local" computer, though it'll be the remote from my notebook. But which
"remote" port do I specify?

Thanks.

If your running Sygate on the PC you want to remotely connect *TO* from another location, then you
need to configure Sygate to forward/open TCP Port 3389. I don't know how to do that since I don't
use Sygate. Look at the Sygate users guide or search the Sygate support web pages for help...
